British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
The news of his discharge follows the global fight fans had expressed its support for the fighter in the following the devastating accident.
