Trevoh Chalobah Poised to Replace Marc Guehi in England National Team

The Chelsea star emulated his brother Nathaniel in representing England, becoming the twenty-first duo of siblings to earn caps for the England side.

Trevoh Chalobah is expected to join up with the England squad to cover for injured Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old is scheduled to meet up with the team for England's last World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania, although it has not yet been confirmed.

The national side have already secured qualification for the upcoming tournament.

Chalobah earned his initial invitation under England manager Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then played his first game against the Senegalese team.

In the month of September, Tuchel remarked Chalobah was unfortunate to be left out from the squad for qualifying games against Serbia and Andorra, and additionally did not select him for the following October matches.

Tuchel has been an key figure in Chalobah's career, having handed him his Chelsea debut in the year 2021.

Chalobah has featured in all but four fixtures for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the team occupying third spot in the Premier League, in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and in the league phase of the Champions League.

Guehi picked up a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League victory over AZ Alkmaar recently.

There are set to be other additions to the selection. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has announced that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (a concussion) will withdraw from the England setup.
