The incident resulted in the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two individuals are now facing charges following a luggage theft where a suspected pepper spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and two counts of administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.

The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their luggage taken after exiting a car park lift, police said.

A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. Several persons required hospital care and were subsequently released.

The incident – described by police as was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – caused disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
